West Village Studio

Manhattan

Description

The renovation of this 400 square foot studio apartment includes an office area, a formal dining space, an improved kitchen, and storage and display areas for books and collectibles. In order to meet the storage demands presented by the owner’s book and art collection, the interior walls were removed and replaced with thick storage and shelving walls. The ‘walls’ act as natural dividers between the living room, kitchen and sleep area without creating the appearance of excessive clutter. The furnishings and finishes throughout were selected in a muted palette to unify the apartment and allow the books and art to provide the color and visual interest.
